KPANDO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY SUPPORTS PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWDs)

On Monday, 31st August 2026, the Kpando Municipal Assembly extended vital support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at the Assembly Forecourt.

The program was led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Killian Donkor, and graced by the Member of Parliament for Kpando, Hon. Sebastian Deh, together with the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Gilbert Akaba, and the Head of Social Welfare and Community Development, Mr. Gati Divine.

A total of 87 beneficiaries received economic empowerment items worth GHS 424,000, including industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, fridges, fufu pounding machines, barbering machines, wheelchairs, and cheques to promote self‑reliance and improve livelihoods.

Hon. Donkor emphasized government’s dedication to inclusivity, noting that under President John Dramani Mahama, the allocation of the District Assemblies Common Fund for PWDs has been increased from 3% to 5%. He encouraged beneficiaries to make good use of the items to enhance their living conditions.

The Assembly congratulates all beneficiaries and remains committed to supporting the vulnerable within the Municipality.
