On 5th July 2026, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kpando, Hon. Killian Donkor, spearheaded a vital drainage construction exercise aimed at tackling long standing flooding challenges in the municipality.
The project focused on the drainage gutter stretching from Kpando main lorry station through the Pentecost Church area to the Kudzra road. This initiative is designed to ensure the free flow of rainwater, reduce erosion, and protect residents and businesses from the recurring threat of floods during the rainy season.
During the exercise, Hon. Donkor emphasized the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding communities and improving urban resilience. The presence of heavy machinery and active supervision highlighted the municipality’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.
Community members expressed optimism that the project will not only enhance safety but also improve accessibility and sanitation within the area. The initiative reflects the Assembly’s broader vision of building a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Kpando.
