Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. John Dumelo, together with Hon. Killian Donkor (MCE for Kpando) and Hon. Sebastian Deh (MP), undertook a one-day working visit across the Kpando Municipality to inspect key agricultural facilities and farms.
The team visited the Konda Warehouse, Tropiga Farms, KEB Farms, and Zoglo Agro Farm, where they underscored the importance of modern storage facilities in reducing post-harvest losses, and highlighted the role of commercial agriculture in job creation, local economic growth, and food production.
At KEB Farms, the delegation toured a 54-acre oil palm plantation producing 400 litres of palm oil weekly, serving as a vital input for soap, detergent, biodiesel, and cosmetics production. At Zoglo Agro Farm, they inspected diverse plantations spanning 49 acres of oranges, cashew, coconut, and guava, showcasing the potential of crop diversification.
These visits reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting agribusinesses, promoting value addition, and creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers and the youth across the Kpando Municipality.
