An open forum was organized for all basic school heads at the Ghana Education Service (GES) office in the Kpando Municipality. The purpose was to engage with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Director of GES, auditors, and other key stakeholders to discuss critical issues and challenges faced by school heads in their respective institutions.
MCE Killian Donkor highlighted the vital role teachers play in society, stating that “teachers are the ones who reduce crime in our communities and increase the wealth within them.” He acknowledged, however, that teachers often require more support than the system is currently able to provide.
He further expressed that surviving on a teacher’s salary is difficult, especially considering the numerous challenges they face. He assured attendees that if issues reported to the Director remain unresolved, school heads are encouraged to escalate them directly to him, and that his office remains open to addressing their concerns.
