{"id":834,"date":"2021-06-01T19:34:48","date_gmt":"2021-06-01T19:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fastwpdemo.com\/newwp\/whitehall\/?page_id=834"},"modified":"2025-11-02T16:15:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T16:15:21","slug":"physical-planning","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/kpma.gov.gh\/index.php\/departments\/physical-planning\/","title":{"rendered":"Physical Planning"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"834\" class=\"elementor elementor-834\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2bf1769 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"2bf1769\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2332a30 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2332a30\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Department of Physical Planning at the Municipal level shall manage the activities of the Department of Town and Country Planning and the Department of Parks and Gardens.<\/p><p>The Department:<\/p><p>(a) advise the Municipal Assembly on national policies on physical planning, land use and development;<\/p><p>(b) co-ordinate activities and projects of departments and other agencies including Non-Governmental Organizations to ensure compliance with planning standards;<\/p><p>(c)assist in preparation of physical plans as a guide for the formulation of development policies and decisions and to design projects in the district;<\/p><p>(d) assist to identify problems concerning the development ofland and its social, environmental and economic implications;<\/p><p>(e)advise on setting out approved plans for future development of land at the district level;<\/p><p>(g) advise on preparation of structures for towns and villages within the Municipal;<\/p><p>(h)collaborate with the Survey Unit in the performance of its functions;<\/p><p>(i)facilitate and participate in research into planning in the District;<\/p><p>(j)assist to offer professional advice to aggrieved persons on appeals and petitions on decisions made on their building;<\/p><p>(k) facilitate consultation, co-ordination and harmonization of developmental decisions into a physical development plan;<\/p><p>(I) assist to prepare a District Land-Use Plan to guide activities in the district;<\/p><p>(m) advise on the conditions for the construction of public and private buildings and structures;<\/p><p>(n) assist to provide the layout for buildings for improved housing layout and settlement;<\/p><p>(0) ensure the prohibition of the construction of new buildings unless building plans submitted have been approved by the Assembly;<\/p><p>(p)advise and facilitate the demolition of dilapidated buildings and recovery of expenses incurred in connection with the demolition;<\/p><p>(q) ensure the prohibition of the use of inflammable materials in the construction or repair of buildings in defined areas;<\/p><p>(r) advise the Assembly on the siting of bill boards, masts and ensure compliance with the decisions of the Assembly;<\/p><p>(s) advise on the acquisition of landed property in the public interest; and<\/p><p>(t)undertake street naming, numbering of house and related Issues.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Physical Planning at the Municipal level shall manage the activities of the Department of Town and Country Planning and the Department of Parks and Gardens.
