ORIENTATION FOR BUTCHERS ON ADOPTING SAFE SINGEING METHODS.
The Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit organized an orientation program for butchers within the Kpando Municipality. The session covered several key topics, including;
Slaughtering of animal in a sanitary environment.
?They were also educated on the effects of the use of lorry tyre on human health, causing respiratory diseases such as bronchitis.
?Also, on the use of bamboo and gas torch in singeing which is the safest method of singeing.
?They were further sensitized on routine cleansing of the slaughterhouse and meat shop, recommending a minimum of two cleanings per month.
