Mr. Innocent Amanu, (NSS District Director for Kpando), welcomed the 138 National Service Personnel (NSPs) assigned to Kpando and provided details about their distribution among teachers and university graduates. He emphasized the significance of educators in nurturing children and shaping their futures.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Killian Donkor, was introduced, highlighting his background as a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman, welder, contractor, and entrepreneur. He spoke about his personal experiences serving Ghana through national service and urged NSPs to be proactive, innovative, and committed, emphasizing that service can open doors to future employment.
Guest speakers shared insightful messages:
- Mr. Samuel Yao Ahiabli, Human Resource Manager of Kpando Municipal Assembly, stressed time management, adherence to codes of conduct, and professional development.
- Mr. Joshua Adzigba, Chief Inspector of Schools, encouraged NSPs to be committed, to build relationships with students, and to maintain discipline.
- Mr. Mark Ahiave underscored the importance of self-development and advised against the misuse of resources, especialliy in relation to drug use.
Following a break, Mr. Amanu provided guidelines on tracking service days, supervision, and maintaining spiritual well-being.
The election process began with the reading of manifestos by candidates for various positions, including Wocom, Organizing Secretary, Financial Secretary, General Secretary, Vice President, and President. After voting, the initial presidential votes were rejected, prompting a revote. The results were declared, and new executives were sworn in by the outgoing Vice President of NASPA. The newly elected president addressed attendees, and the Wocom Elect delivered a vote of thanks.
