MANAGEMENT OF KPANDO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY CUT THE SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ASSEMBLY COMPLEX

 

 

The Management of Kpando Municipal Assembly has, on Friday 16th September 2022, cut the sod for the construction of a three-storey Assembly complex at Fesi.

The proposal for the project came in the wake of challenges faced by past and present political and administrative heads of the Assembly, to mobilize the various departments of the Assembly for effective administrative works. The Assembly’s departments and units are currently housed in offices belonging to the department of Urban Roads, the Municipal health directorate and other rented premises.

The project, when completed will mitigate office rental burdens on the Assembly as well as provide enough office spaces for offices that are woefully crowded.

The project which is expected to be completed in September, 2023 contains thirty-nine (39) offices and auxiliary facilities. Meanwhile, the Contractor, Modern International Developers Ltd assured the gathering that the project would be ready for use within ten months from the sod cutting.

In his speech, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive urged the chiefs and people of the Municipality to embrace development with open minds, devoid of partisan conflicts, and support the project. He also assured the chiefs and people of Fesi electoral area that the office complex will help boost the socio-economic climate of the area by attracting other forms of development into the community.

On behalf of the Paramount Chief of Akpini Traditional Area, the Divisional Chief of Tsakpe-Deveme, Togbui Darkey IV expressed gratitude to the Assembly’s management team for the project. He assured the Assembly of the support of the traditional council even for other prospects.

Commemorating the sod cutting, the project was handed over to the contractor for work to commence. He appealed to the the community for their support. He stated that the youth in vocational skills like carpentry and masonry would come in handy for the construction.
