The inaugural meeting for all Unit Committee members in Kpando was held at the Municipal Assembly Hall in Fesi, beginning with an opening prayer by Mr. Raphael Addo. Gilbert Akaba (MCD) urged members to fully engage in the proceedings, highlighting their key role in revenue mobilization and the importance of developing an Annual Action Plan and Budget for the Zonal Council. He reassured members that management would support their efforts to ensure effective and efficient operations of the Council.
Hon. Geoffrey K Badasu (MCE) congratulated members on their election and encouraged them to uphold accountability and transparency to maintain trust within the Council. He stressed the need for strong relationships with electorates to promote peace and security, cautioning against disruptive behaviors such as rumor-mongering and character assassination. He further emphasized that disputes related to chieftaincy, ethnicity, and land could be mitigated through strategic engagement with various community groups.
This event marked a significant milestone in the official induction of Unit Committee Members, equipping them with the guidance necessary to support the Assembly and serve their communities effectively.
