Green Ghana Day celebration is aimed at making conscious effort to restore our forest. This event occurred on the 9th June, 2023 at the new Assembly complex under construction at Kpando-Fesi.
This special occasion was graced by the following members from the Kpando Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director IIB, NADMO, Municipal Agric Officer, BNI, Internal Audit, Divisional Police Commander, Fire Service Officer, Forestry Commission Officer, and other Technocrats.
Before the commencement of the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive gave a warm welcome to all officers who were able to make it to this memorable occasion and entreated them for their full participation to make this program a success.
The Municipal Agric Officer gave a brief education on this year’s theme for celebrating the Green Ghana which was dubbed ‘‘Our Forest Our Health’’. The target for this year’s tree planting was 10 million trees to restore degradation and boost afforestation which would improve the biodiversity of our country.
There was displace of different species of plants like odum, mahogany, afram, teak etc.
The first tree planting was done by the Municipal Chief Executive followed by the Municipal Coordinating Director, the Divisional Police Commander, and other members followed with the tree planting.
After the tree-planting ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive thanked all officers for their cordial participation and their conscious efforts of restoring the afforestation of the Kpando-Fesi and the country as a whole.
