CITIZENSHIP WEEK CELEBRATION HELD AT ALOYI RC PRIMARY SCHOOL

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE’s) constitutional mandate is to create and sustain the awareness of the principles and objectives of the 1992 constitution. One of the flagship programmes of the commission is the annual citizenship week celebration which targets basic school pupils across the country. The goal of CWC is to remind pupils of their responsibilities as agents of change, and future leaders who can help build a peaceful strong, and united democratic Ghana. The Citizenship Week Celebration is usually a week long celebration from 26th May to 2nd June each year, spilling over the week into a month.
The NCCE’s broader theme for 2023 is 30 Years Of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy Building National Cohesion through Civic Education And Participation In Local Governance, however the 2023 citizenship week will be celebrated under the sub theme 30 Years Of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy And Building National Cohesion: The Role Of The Ghanaian Child.
Some dignitaries present at the ceremony were the Member of Parliament for Kpando Municipal Constituency Hon. Dela Sowah and the Municipal Chief Executive for Kpando for Hon. Goeffrey Kodzo Badasu.
