The Municipal Chief Executive for Kpando, Hon. Killian Donkor, on Monday, 27th October 2025, met with members of the Okada Riders Association to discuss safety, discipline, and licensing in the municipality.
He commended the riders for their contribution to local transportation but urged them to strictly comply with road safety regulations. He cautioned against carrying multiple passengers, riding without helmets, performing dangerous stunts, jumping traffic lights, disrespecting police officers, and operating without number plates.
The MCE assured the riders that there would be no immediate arrests of unlicensed operators, as steps are being taken to make licensing more affordable. He also encouraged registered members to submit their details to the Assembly for proper documentation and warned against acts of indiscipline, citing a recent incident at Aloyi where a police vehicle was damaged during a funeral.
The Association’s leadership thanked the MCE for the engagement and pledged their commitment to promoting safety, discipline, and cooperation within the municipality.
